According to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was trying to make a traffic stop on a car near Loop 323 and Texas College Road early Tuesday morning when the driver drove off reaching speeds of 100 mph. The man slowed down the car in front of the Rose Valley Apartments and jumped out of the drivers side and ran through the complex but was not found, officials said.
