Tyler Home Invasion Investigated

TYLER – Tyler police are investigating the break-in of an apartment at the Cumberland Place Apartment Complex, 2051 West Cumberland Road. The call came in shortly after 2:00 Sunday morning. Officers were there quickly but the suspects had fled. A search of the area turned up no trace of the men.
The woman told officers she was asleep in her bedroom and awoke to find a man sitting on top of her. According to the victim, she struggled with the suspect for several minutes before retrieving a gun and fired one round in the direction of the man. It is believed the suspect was not injured during the incident; however, the victim did sustain minor injuries and was treated by EMS at the scene. The victim was not able to provide a description of the suspect.
