Man Jailed for Allegedly Evading Arrest

CANTON – A traffic stop turned into a brief chase in Van Zandt County. It started when a sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a car for a traffic violation on County Road 1803. But the car’s driver sped away at a high rate of speed. They were finally able to stop the vehicle four miles South of Highway 80 on County Road 1818. The driver, identified as Juvey Daniel Landaverde, 22, of Grand Saline, was booked into the Van Zandt County jail for felony evading arrest and bond was set at $7,500.
