County Judge Charles L. McMichael on Tuesday issued a declaration of disaster for Cass County saying the county is “under imminent threat of severe damage, injury of loss of life or property” due to the wildfires. Cass County has the largest single wildfire in Northeast Texas, and it has now spread to Marion County. According to KETK, investigators are looking into the possibility arsonists may be responsible for those flames.
