Jimmy McClelland, 25, was taken into custody on a charge of second-degree felony injury to a child. McClelland initially told police at the hospital that he was rocking the child and heard a pop. A CPS investigator also responded to the emergency room, noting further injuries, including retinal hemorrhaging consistent with shaken baby syndrome, but without brain swelling. McClelland is out of the Angelina County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
