SMITH COUNTY — The continuing drought creates ideal conditions for grass fires. One of at least five fires from Monday rekindled Tuesday. Firefighters confirm several more acres charred along Smith County Road 246 a couple of miles south of Highway 31 East. According to KETK, it’s the third time flames have blackened the land in that area.
