United Way Campaign Underway

TYLER ā The 2011 United Way of Smith County campaign is off and running, with a goal of $1.8 million. The local effort dates back to 1940. Campaign organizers say over 53,000 Smith County residents were helped last year by programs under the United Way banner.
āOur 2011 Campaign will continue to remind everyone to āLIVE UNITED.ā As a community, we are all connected,ā said Nan Moore, United Way President. āWe have been reminded over the past months that what affects one of our Smith County neighbors will in some way affect all of us. That is why we ask you to pleaseā¦Give, Advocate, Volunteerā¦LIVE UNITED.ā A special feature for 2011 is a brand new Hyundai Accent sponsored by Allen Samuels, to be given away December 15 to an individual who pledges a donation of at least $5 a week for one year.
