Man gets 50 years in child sex case

GILMER — 48-year-old Joseph Paul Price of Gladewater gets 50 years in prison after pleading guilty in a Gilmer courtroom to eight counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Officials with the Upshur County DA’s Office say the dates of offense were between March and May of last year. The child was eight years old at the time. Price waived his right to appeal and will be required to register as a sex offender if he is ever paroled, according to a news release.
