TYLER — The Smith County Collections Department is holding its annual warrant round up the week of September 13. Judicial Compliance/Collections Director Sheryl Keel says the county’s courts have hundreds of active warrants they are seeking to clear. Keel says defendants are encouraged to take advantage of the options available to settle outstanding warrants immediately. Once the arrest period begins Monday, Smith County will aggressively target persons on the delinquent and or warrant list and arrests can take place at any location, including the defendant’s home, school or workplace, Keel said. Notices were being mailed to all defendants who fit the criteria.
