New senior pastor at Green Acres Baptist Church

TYLER — For the first time in over 30 years, a new senior pastor is officially on board at the largest church in East Texas. The website of Tyler’s Green Acres Baptist Church shows that Dr. Michael Gossett took over the reins effective Sunday, August 29. He succeeds Dr. David Dykes, who has retired as the longest-serving pastor in the church’s history. Dykes began leading the congregation in March 1991. Green Acres claims over 17,000 members.
