Woman Sexually Assaulted at GunpointTYLER — Tyler police search for a suspect after a woman said she was held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted. It happened around 10:00 last night in the area of Beckham and Erwin. The woman said she was confronted by a black male with a gun and forced behind a building where she was assaulted. Former Longview Doctor Found Dead at National Park

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK — A former Longview doctor has died after going missing at a National Park. According to KETK, the Grand Canyon National Park issued a notice asking for the public’s help in locating Dr. Sarah Beadle, 38, of Fort Worth. Her body was recovered by a search team Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Beadle was a former doctor at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview before joining the Baylor Emergency Medical Center in Keller. The National Parks Service said Beadle had reservations to stay at Phantom Ranch August 1, but never arrived. Gilmer Man Indicted on Federal Drug, Gun Charges

TYLER — A Gilmer man who police said had more than 110 grams of methamphetamine, guns and a host of other drugs at an Upshur County house has been indicted by a federal grand jury. Shundarrell Vondrake Cain, 45, has been charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during drug trafficking and felon in possession of a firearm. KETK reports federal prosecutors are also seeking criminal forfeiture of at least $10,000 stemming from drug sales and seven guns.

Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Bust

HENDERSON COUNTY – An Arp man has been arrested for possession of meth. Trinity Driver, 28, was pulled over for a traffic violation south of Chandler around 1:30 this morning. A Henderson County Deputy searched his vehicle and found a pipe and meth hidden in a cigarette box. Driver was booked into the Henderson County Jail on a possession charge.

ICE Program has Public Safety in Mind

SMITH COUNTY — Eighteen Texas sheriffs, including Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith, have signed up to participate in a federal immigration enforcement program that checks the immigration status of inmates in the county jail. Under the program, sheriff’s office personnel are trained so that people jailed locally and found to be in the country illegally can be held until federal agents decide if deportation is appropriate. ICE now has 60 active agreements, which is nearly double the number of active programs in 2016.

Boy Struck By Vehicle in Longview

LONGVIEW – A young boy has been critically injured when hit by a car in Longview. Aaron Christopher Lloyd, 11, of Ore City, was flown to a Dallas hospital with life threatening injuries. He was hit by a car as he tried to cross North Eastman Road just before 11:00 Thursday night. Longview police say the boy was not crossing at a crosswalk and the Gilmer man driving the car was not at fault in the accident.

East Texan Charged with DWI following Friday Wreck

LONGVIEW — An East Texas man was arrested after an accident causing Friday morning road closures in Longview. According to KETK, H.G. Mosely Parkway and Ruthlynn Drive were closed in both directions following a wreck that knocked power poles down. Longview Police said Luke Austin Hall, 23, Jefferson, told them he left a Longview bar and was driving home when his truck tires hit the curb, pulling his vehicle off the roadway causing him to hit a light pole and a tree. Officers determined Hall was intoxicated and arrested him for driving while intoxicated. He was booked into the Gregg County Jail.

Fatal Tyler Shooting Suspect Identified

TYLER — Tyler Police have identified a suspect wanted in a fatal shooting. An arrest warrant has been issued for Aquinas Lamar Dixon (pictured), 32, Tyler. Officers said around 8:50 Wednesday night, a shooting at the Domino Club pool hall left Earnest Dennis, 28, dead. He was found face down in the parking lot across the street from the pool hall on Morris Street. Dennis was pronounced dead at ETMC. Dixon is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen driving a 90’s or early 2000 dark colored Jaguar with paper tags. Call police with any information.

Man Wanted for Son’s Murder Arrested

WOOD COUNTY — A man wanted for the murder of his son was recently arrested in Lubbock County, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. KETK reports, George Wayne Saunders, 62, of Mineola, was indicted in Wood County for murder on May 31. Saunders was first arrested for manslaughter back in 2011 after his son, Loren, died from a gunshot wound to the chest at the Chaney Point RV Park in Alba. At the time of his death, Saunders told investigators he walked in on his 16-year-old son twirling a revolver when the gun fired. The shooting was initially ruled accidental. In May 2011, the Medical Examiner’s Office labeled the death suspicious. An arraignment hearing set for August 4.

Wanted Longview Man Found with Meth

GREGG COUNTY — A Longview man faces additional charges after police said they found more than 5 grams of methamphetamine in his possession. According to the Longview News-Journal and KETK, Julio Cesar Banuelos, 34, was held Tuesday in the Gregg County Jail on $10,000 bond, charged with possession of a controlled substance measuring more than 4 grams but less than 200 grams. He also had a warrant for his arrest on a driving while intoxicated charge. Banuelos was arrested on the outstanding warrant about 7 p.m. Monday on Crystal Street after a traffic stop. Police said they found two small plastic bags containing 5.7 grams of meth in his pants pocket.

Suspect in Car-Jacking Arrested

SMITH COUNTY — A Tyler man has been arrested after he allegedly stole a car Tuesday morning. According to KETK, Jarode Detwin Wilson, 30, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. Wilson had asked an acquaintance for a ride around 1 a.m. During the trip, Wilson reportedly pulled a gun and threatened the victim. The victim pulled over and jumped out of the car. Wilson took off in the vehicle but was caught by Tyler Police a short time later. Wilson was booked into the Smith County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Assault Suspect Turns Himself In

HARRISON COUNTY — A Marshall man wanted for assault has been arrested. Dillon Burr, 22, turned himself in to Harrison County Deputies around 1:30 Monday morning. He’s accused of assaulting a man at a Chevron station on East End Boulevard June 25th. Burr is charged with injury to the disabled and probation violation. He was booked into the Harrison County Jail with bond set at $125,000.

Man Arrested after Reportedly Punching Cop

LONGVIEW — A man was arrested Thursday after police said he punched a Longview officer attempting to arrest him. According to the Longview News-Journal and KETK, Cesar Danilo Cordova, 22, was held Friday on bonds totaling $22,500, charged with assault of a public servant, evading arrest detention with a previous conviction and harassment of a public servant. Jail records showed Cordova also was being held on an immigration detainer. Police responded about 7 p.m. Thursday to the 500 block of East Marshall Avenue in reference to a criminal mischief in progress.

Head-On Collision Leaves One Man Dead, One Injured

GREGG COUNTY — A Diana man was killed Thursday in a wreck north of Longview after his vehicle was struck head on by another driver. Benjamin Murphy, 34, was traveling south just before 9:00 Thursday night on U.S. 259 when a pickup truck traveling north stuck Murphy’s vehicle head-on. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, Danny Lee, 61, of Longview, was taken to Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview with injuries.

Drivers Urged to Avoid Paluxy & Shiloh Intersection

TYLER — The City of Tyler Traffic Engineering Department is installing a new traffic signal cabinet at the intersection of Paluxy Drive and Shiloh Road today. Work began at 9:00 and is expected to wrap up by 1:30. The intersection will be a four-way stop until work is finished. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes if possible.
