East Texas Marine Dies in Hawaii

treyjfbHENDERSON — An East Texas native and Corporal in the United States Marine Corps passed away Sunday. According to Major Pamela Marshall, Cpl. Trey Jablonowski, Henderson, was found in his barracks room in Kanaoe, Hawaii, unresponsive. The death of Jablonowski, who had served in Afghanistan and South Korea, is under investigation and could take 30 days or longer to complete.

According to KETK, among the awards Jablonowski received were the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two bronze stars Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two bronze stars. Jablonowsky graduated from Henderson High School in 2008.
